Hello everyone! Today I have one final task to introduce you, which is Digital Storytelling. My teammate Dilara Nur and I changed the original version of "Cinderella" and adapted it to the 21st century with its pros and cons including Coronavirus. To complete this task, we made use of various tools such as Storyboardthat for scenes we create; audacity & video editor for combine effects, sounds and scenes; freesound and freepd for sound effects. These tools take a little time to understand and use effectively but afterwards with some effort, they give the impact we want for our story. You can watch our story "Cinderella in the 21st Century" by clicking here.
As I mentioned in the previous posts, new tools can be effective and motivational in learning, especially in the second language learning But using a new tool or technology should not be the main point/purpose in a class. They are just tools used for a better comprehension. We cannot deny they are good at grabbing the attention of learners. If you are interested in digital storytelling and its benefits in a class, I recommend you to have a look at the link I attach.
The picture above briefly shows the steps we follow. In conclusion, digital storytelling is just one of the tools that may develop a language class with the help of its utterances and visuality it provides.
